Dear god mine are currently on gusto amd tripe (gasp as much as you like) for 3years i have tried my hardest to put weight on a dane and now we are getting it!! hes done all the usually JWB even pro plans new great dane trial (we got 2 sacks for nothing) he thought it was rubbish :D if it suits their dog go for it!! i lost the will to live ages ago with what is best for my dogs isnt exactly what they are prepared to eat!!

At the end of the day dogs dont live aslong as humans  after adult hood (thinking as we do with giant breeds we are careful the 1st 12months) after that they get what they want to eat...

HI,

My friend has decided to stick with Nutro and add green lipped mussel as a supplement. It turns out that a rep had come to the hydrotherapy pool, where my friend takes her dogs, and had been singing the praises of Gilpa.

Thanks again everyone for all your input it was really appreciated.

Rep is only doing his job but if you're friend is happy with Nutro - stick with it!

I agree, I would never think of changing a food that is working perfectly well for a dog.

after keeping dogs for over 30yrs, ive never known one to have a food allergy. just because some people get the runs after a curry, pork to much beer etc dosnt mean u have an allergy.admittely some dogs do get skin and ear allergys and vets, shops and kennels are going to recommend the dearest food they stock, simply because of profit, and i think that if i spend £50 for a bag of dog food id want human grade meat and at least 80% in a sack. my dogs are now doing well on supadog active and tripe, after loosing weight on jwb, constant runs on science plan and wouldnt eat burns.all recommended by the vet. as long as your dog enjoys the food and looks in good condition thats all that should matter.
