Ann, in case you're in any doubt, we've all got butterflies, pseudo contractions and a fear of going near scales because of all the choccy biscuits consumed as comfort food while awaiting the new arrivals (move on to cheesecake I say!)

Things appear to be kicking again.
Pups have moved right down- can feel one almost at opening to vulva and top of tummt looking quite flat with bottom looking much fuller.
Short bursts of frantic digging for a few mins at a time beteen sleeps.
Vulva really puffy.
What lovely conversations we have....

From my experience with my friends it seems Paps are less likely to crush a baby and don't need minute by minute monitoring although still need to be around and watchful.
She is not liking going in the gerden now for toilet- hiding under bench and behind plant pot - Looks gorgeous

62 today but 63 at midnight :)
Only touched gently on outside- not doing internal unless I have to.

At least next time I will have some experience to weigh up against- It's so hard when you don't know what is normal and what is not.

hee hee yup the early hours. yeh my girls dont even notice me checking with them being so big but i can understand a little pap not being keen

Yes like in a small igloo bed so you cant get in to see whats going on!

I have an Atlas 30 carrier that I use for whelping and you just
lift the lid and have peek without upsetting Mum to much.

An excellent idea Joan, I had a whelping bed all set up ready but my Suzi decided the tiny igloo bed was a far better place to have her pup LOL

Latest update- Mischa has been digging most of day and has now just started panting and has her tongue hanging out.
She just gave a small cry then gave me the filthiest look as if I did something to hurt her.
Any guesses how orom panting to puppies?

Sorry to say that every delivery is different so can give no timings as such.  You mentioned earlier that you could see/feel something near her vulva - she should be doing something by now if this was the case I would have thought.  Good luck.

how long is a piece of string.  Sounds like you will have puppies real soon.

next stage will be pushing, watch for her either lying on her side or sitting up a bit
and straining down pushing her back legs into the base or side of the box.

Yes pups appear to be lined up near the vulva- only looking from the outside- I guess I am waiting on her dilating enough to push.
This must be what it is like for husbands when wives are giving birth
