I bet she really gets going in the wee small hours, they seem to wait until all is quiet and then go into strong labour, could be a long night for you :-)
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:07 UTC
I think it will be. I am sure things are underway. I was holding my hands on both sides and could feel her contracting. She is giving the occassional dig in the box- about a dozen wee digs at a time and licking herself a lot but no signs of distress at all
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:12 UTC
Yes it does sound like she's got going for sure :-)
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:24 UTC
Serious question

Just had a quick look underneath and heaps of goo come out of vulva- about five ties more than this morning. It was all stuck to her fur and blocking the entrance to the vulva.
It is the colour of a human baby's early poo. A fawn brown colour- not green but brwonish witha greenish tinge

Will this just be the rest of the plug- Had a slight panic bit have cleaned her all up.

Vulva swelling a bit like when she was mated- guessing that is ok.

Does the muccus coulour sound normal?
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:24 UTC
Sorry about spelling - nerves
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:40 UTC
Hi ya, it does sound like the rest of the plug coming away, the colour has a greenish tinge so that still sounds ok to me.
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:42 UTC
How is the mum doing, is she ok and not particularly distressed at this point?
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:42 UTC
Phew- long ten minutes there- rung everyone I could think of and all engaged.
Hopefully we will have pups tonight.
Have decided to stop taking her temperature and just let her be comfy now
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:44 UTC

She is good - breathing heavier but not laboured- more little digs but otherwise lying calm- very ladylike
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:48 UTC
Sounds all ok, I'm sure you have it all under control and are doing really well, if you ever have any serious concerns a quick call to the vets can put your mind at ease, they never seem to mind a few minutes of reassuring chat when a bitch is in labour.
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:54 UTC
Just called vet and he sais all sounds normal and not to worry about colour- Nice and thick and gooey so just plau- says pups will deff come tonight.
She is so good - just lying on her side breathing fast and shallow.
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.02.09 19:56 UTC

Ann once they are here and on the ground it is hard to find reason not to keep just one even if it is a male.
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 17.02.09 20:19 UTC
I know - but remind me I said no boys when I change my mind- see you soon x
- By Papillon [gb] Date 17.02.09 20:19 UTC

> I would love a tri bitch but to be honest with my first ever litter in my own affix any bitch would be lovely.
> I have decided not to keep any males so you know what will happen- she will have the most beautiful boy pups- sods law

Oh I adore Tri's and a good one is hard to get, fingers crossed you get a nice choice of girls to pick from, do you know how many she is having?

Switching off for now, hope all is going well.

Goodnight

I am hoping that no news means things are underway for you.....look forward to hearing any news in the morning. Goodluck X
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 18.02.09 06:11 UTC
Good morning Ann how did things go overnight?
- By Papillon [gb] Date 18.02.09 06:22 UTC
Hi Ann, how's it going?
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 18.02.09 07:06 UTC
No movement yet- She slept most of the night - I didn't though and as it got later and later I started to panic that something must be wrong.
Really thought they would be here last night after all that mucous came away.
Can still feel pups moving so that is a good sign.
Vet not worried said will call me later and got me to text him this morning#s temp 36.5 which it has been last 4 mornings more or less
Long drawn out one
- By Papillon [gb] Date 18.02.09 07:48 UTC
A long labour for your girl then, well she seems settled enough so she'll produce when she's ready :-)
- By Papillon [gb] Date 18.02.09 07:56 UTC
I must say I was really hoping to see news of new babes arrived when I looked first thing this morning, seems she is going to keep us all waiting lol.
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 18.02.09 07:57 UTC
Hi Papillon

Mischa is fine relaxed and calm - it's me who is frazzled and exhausted.
I was awke until 4am then just shut my eyes for hubby to shake me at 5am to ask what the noise was that she was making(just licking herself)
Both bitches lying on the bed with me whilst I write an Open Uni assignment.
No signs of impending birth- breathing back to normal from fast and shallow- Think she was having me on
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 18.02.09 07:58 UTC

Me too - was so sure they would be here- was really panicked when not but have calmed down now
- By Papillon [gb] Date 18.02.09 08:08 UTC
I imagined you would be up through the wee small hours being midwife :-)   maybe she'll oblige tonight then :-D
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 18.02.09 08:11 UTC
Anytie would be nice- Just want them out now while I know they are ok
- By Papillon [gb] Date 18.02.09 08:13 UTC
They are fine and safe in there, mum is settled and unconcerned then all is ok, if mum was upset and distressed that would be different, she is waiting for just the right time to have her family :-)
- By mahonc Date 18.02.09 10:27 UTC Edited 18.02.09 10:35 UTC
looks like shes goin full term, better for pups and mum!
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 18.02.09 10:34 UTC
Hello Ann

While they are ok where they are you don't want to rush it.
I'll take your number with me tomorrow as I'm heading down to Heathrow for a dog arriving on Friday
a day later than I thought but there you go even at 12 months old they can keep you waiting. LOL

I'll do the same as everyone else and keep checking for any updates.

Joan

Have you got a new baby arriving Joan :-)
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 18.02.09 11:07 UTC
I wish!!!!! Doing a favour for a friend.
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 18.02.09 11:36 UTC
All signs have stopped- she is begging for cheese from my daughter and as laid back as can be.
Can't feel pups move now though- is that normal near the end? They were wriggling early this morning but nothing now
- By mahonc Date 18.02.09 11:38 UTC
dont panic, they will be chilling like mum!!
- By ANNM172 [gb] Date 18.02.09 11:39 UTC
God this is hard...
- By Abbeypap [gb] Date 18.02.09 11:46 UTC
Ann believe me it's even worse sitting this end, especially when you can't put hands on or see whats happening.
She'll be fine.
- By mahonc Date 18.02.09 12:16 UTC
hard bit hasnt started yet ha ha ha
not sure how it goes with your breed but with mine you cant leave bitch and pups alone for one second for the first two weeks, that includes no sleep!!!
just in case mom squishes them, but i do have a giant breed
