chucked Bling out and stood with the pair and told Bosh it was his own fault so not to look at me like it :D when they were done i phoned the vets just to make sure everything would be ok as Bosh was neutered in October, the receptionist that answered the phone was only on her first day so she had someone call me back, the nurse that rang me back has been nursing for over 20 years and in that time had never come across this before she asked the vets and in the end phoned the vet we usually see just to make sure all was ok, none had ever heard of it before. Well all ok, vet said he doesnt think any sperm would have survived that long so Mel should be ok (phew!)
My older neutered spaniel will given half the chance mate and tie with any in season bitch, very odd even my vet had not heard of it to the regularity that he will try. He will still chatter when the bitches are due in season also
What shocked me even more was later that day, Barney had only been outside a few mins, was a very irate horse owner off the yard telling me that Barney was tied with his bitch & if she had yet another unwanted litter it was all my fault & I would be paying for them
I remember getting on the phone to the Vet, he said a tie was possible but as it was over a year since he'd been neutered all should be ok but if any puppies did result then I should feel free to sue him
lol!! I explained all of this to the other owner along with the suggestion that if he didn't want more litters then maybe he should keep his in season bitch out of the way (as opposed to free running at the farm!) & then get her spayed ~ he still continued to be antsey with me & lo & behold no puppies :D
