I would be most grateful if you could give tips and instructions on a cocker hand strip I have owned border terriers before and handstripped well but need a hand on lines and where to use the scissors and clippers if at all. Thankyou

It's very difficult to give detailed grooming info on a breed just in words alone but you might find these two sites helpful :-

Basically, if you are handstripping a Cocker you do not clipper anywhere at all. Thinning scissors are used under the throat & down to the breast bone, under the tail & underneath the ears. If the leg hair is really thick, you could also use thinners to thin the hair out there. Scissors are also used to tidy up the feet & clear excess hair away from inside the ears.
