Topic Dog Boards / General / Panic! Insurance problem

My m and s insurance policy was up for renewal today. Having tried several times to ring them over the last few weeks i have been unable to get through to them again today. I need to pay by credit card apparently, but i can only do this over the phone between 8 and 6pm.Every time i ring it says its putting me through and the phone just goes engaged all the time. I ws on hold for 20 minutes today but had to give up because i was at work. My plan is to phone them dead on 8am tomorrow and hopefully i might get a reply. My problem is that i'm worried they will refuse to renew the policy because i am a day late, but i can't do anything if they won't answer the phone surely! I have several large claims on the go at the moment and with an £800 op on the cards for my dogs cataract op i can't afford for them to cancel it. DO you think they will allow me to renew tomorrow or will they be ruthless and refuse?

I have been trying to ring them for the last couple of days too, just to ask for a new claim form to be sent out to me.  I finally got through to this morning to the claims line number.  It told me it was transferring me to an operator and I actually got a person this time, after being told numerous times before that my call 'could not be completed'

I found this info on another site but don't know if it will help you or not...

If you have any difficulties with M&S, phone AXA on 01473 205926 and speak to Alistair Marks.
My problem went on for two months, then I contacted him and it was sorted it in less than an hour. You've never seen M&S move so fast !

I did get the impression that it was a technical fault as usually they play music when your're waiting, but this was just a constant beeping. I really think its unfair if they are unreachable, particularly if they do cancel my policy!

If the fault is a technical one at their end, i think it would be most unfair for them to cancel your policy when it has been impossible for you to get through on the phone.  Hope you get it sorted tomorrow.

I had a nightmare trying to get through to them yesterday, same problem, call be transferred then the engaged tone.  I did manage to get through to the new business part and they said it was due to high call volumes
