Hi, a good program to use is one called "System Mechanic" you could probably download a trial for 30 days and run it a few times in that duration. It has several different settings on it one of which is system speed up, it fixes all the settings, deletes spyware etc and you can also use the program to clean your pc up, optimize it and plenty of other things.
http://www.iolo.com/sm/ you can download it there, its what i use and it was recommended to me by a computer technician. I love it as it has improved my pc performance loads and it also does regular analysis to tell you where you need to improve :)
Hope iv helped ya, as someone said RAM can be an issue but only if your running too many things at once, if its slow in future try closing a few things. It might not be RAM though it may just be that theres so much clutter and that your settings arnt optimal.
