I am really interested in boxers and have a particular affection for white ones, but my question is (and I really hope I don't offend anyone!!), but can anyone tell me the percentage of deafness amongst white boxers or are they all usually deaf. Forgive me if this is a stupid question but how can colour affect hearing?? as there dosen't seem to be a problem in dogs with colours on them. All advice will be taken into consideration.
I have boxers and only ever had two white puppies in seperate litters neither of these puppies where deaf. selective hearing yes but deaf no...I have just lost a very dear white boxer girl at 8yrs old and her hearing was perfect...I adore white boxers, if you are going too look at a litter take the white puppy aside and clap or whistle or any sound and see how he/she responds but a reputable breeder will know if they have a white puppy if it is deaf or not....
