
Oh how very true Val :D :rolleyes: I've seen a groomers idea of a "stripped" Shepherd and believe me, it wasn't very nice.
Shepherds do have a tendency to moult and IME, if you have central heating or keep them in warm areas they shed everywhere, every day :P
With our last Shepherd, we lived in a very old house with no central heating and she put on so much coat she looked like a walking afghan :D Seriously though, I used to use a stripping comb,
not one with blades that just used to take out the dead, woolly undercoat as Val suggested. In the summer I used it 3/4 times a week because the shedding was almost permanent and in the Winter once a week on average. But you will find if you do it regularly, the shedding will minimise, although not stop all together. I used to find that the shorted haired ones shed more coat than the longer haired ones, for obvious reasons. :)
