I have an 8 month old staffy bitch at the moment and we're going to training classes etc and she's coming on nicely, I'm really wanting an EBT bitch puppy at the end of the year or beginning of next year, we're in the north west. Planning it that way as we're not planning on a holiday until Feb 2007 and wouldn't want to leave a young pup in kennels. Want I'm wanting to know is what sort of things do I need to consider putting the 2 together behaviour wise and training wise and how much the average price of a pup is?
Hope you can help. Lorna

I think you would be better off waiting until end of NEXT year for a pup.

Your staff is young now, she may be doing well at training classes but, she is not old enough to teach a young pup how to behave, and having two immature dogs together is a nightmare. The elder one will go backwards, the young one will learn very little of how to behave around adult dogs.
You will have to train both seperately AND together (which yes, you have to do with adult dogs, but its not nearly so crucial), and it will be very hard work.
