MUST NEVER BE LET OFF LEADI admit i've only met a handful of sibes,a few of them have been off lead, with no probs :) I have heard the above comment before on here and asked the last off lead sibe owner about it,to which she replied(her words) "Sibes are not for lazy owners, they can be reliably let off lead with an immense amount of patient training" Her dog walked perfectly to heel and came back each and every time she called, she showed me like 10 times
I also asked another guy with one who was off lead and he got offended,i think, and just scoffed and walked off with his sibe following close behind ;)
Ofcourse not all sibes i have seen have been off the lead, there alot who are always kept on a short leash :(
Guest my honest heartfelt opinion would be to wait until you get a house before bringing a sibe into your life. What would happen if you were laid up with the flu, forexample, would you still be willing to trodge around for 2-3 hours, possibly in the rain or snow? If you were to keep a dog like the sibe in a flat then you must be prepared to walk him for hours each and every day for the rest of it's life,i dont know many folk who could 100% commit to this without fail???
Wouldnt you consider a smaller breed who doesnt need as much exercise? Then it wouldnt matter so much if you missed a day of walkies here or there :) Arent sibes very people orientated and dont like being left alone for long periods?
Guest why dont you join,so you can answer the questions and explain your situation better, especially the rabbit part
