I just wondered why you left the taga off originally? It is a leagal requirement for dogs to wear them. I know many people don't have collars and tags on their dogs when at home, but you never know if a dog shouold escape abd get into danger as in theis case.
I live on a busy road and feel the risk of wearing the collars when I awm not around is less than the chance of them getting out the front door when the kids are in and out for I have careless visitors, though I have it pretty well ingrained in the dogs that they must wait at the sooor, you never know.
