On our contract of sale it states which paperwork accompanies the pup at time of sale, and if anything is to follow, both parties sign, and that way no one is in any doubt about what they should get. We often dont send off registrations till the pups are a bit older, as we are sorting out names, and often run on several from a litter. However, as we rarely supply KC reg with our pet pups it is made clear that they get the pedigree, not the Registration. I would say the guests best option is to a)ring the breeder to ask when they were sent and b) ring the KC with the parents registered names and check if they are processing the paperwork, if not, get back on to the breeder straight away. there are several resons why paperwork can be delayed, even though the KC is so much quicke these days, errors on the form ,problems with payment method, names not acceptable etc etc all lead to delays in receiving the documents back to the breeder. However, they will be notified of all these things so should be able to keep you updated.
