I have just had a litter of pups, and sold them mainly through this site, but two were sold through another site as they were hand reared, and not so big at a much reduced price. On the two cheaper ones I put that I do return deposits.
On the pups on this site, I do NOT put this, and to be truth full It has never been needed to be addressed either.
Unfortunately, I took a large deposit, his offer, not my ask, if you see what I mean, half of the asking price from a Gentleman, who found it very difficult to visit, he sounded very nice to speak to on the phone, and got passed the phone interrogation, and we exchanged many emails, followed by lots of puppy pictures, as they grew up, which they were always very happy to receive. He had semi chosen via the pictures, but to be honest, I had marked him pick of litter, as he had really left it to me to choose the best for him, as he was frist to phone me.
I give out the pet plan insurance [4 weeks free] he asked me to sign another receipt, as he then told me he had visited a solicitor, and been advised to have this receipt signed, which he had written up himself.
I said I have never had to do this before, and as I give a puppy contract out along with a small invoice, which also has name address, price, date etc, I found it not really necessary to sign anything else, and said as much to him.
Well with that he has asked for his deposit back and says he feels uneasy about the sale and wishes to walk away. I had people waiting on the list so his pup was rehomed that evening.
The pups all passed their vet check with flying colours, and the vet commented, it was the best litter she had ever health checked. How do I stand, he came via champ dogs, and I was a little surprised to hear he had been trawling the other dog sale sites, where he had found the two pups I had had to bottle rear.
I have been breeding for 40 years, never had a complaint, a dog returned, as I am sure you all have found, with being carful who you book your pups to.
So what would you do.
