Interestingly this past weekend, having bought a couple of lamb marrow bones, I gave them to my two (the weather was nice enough for them to have them outside!). That night, my Whippet threw up bile, and during the evening that day, my Basset was clearly uncomfortable to the point we took him out for a walk where he dumped quite a 'pile', starting okay and not at the end (great for picking up - not!). Both were fine the following day. I'd suspect this probably was the result of the bones!! However, in truth I've never had this reaction before when I have given others the occasional bone (not again with these two!) so there may be some truth in not mixing raw with a complete diet? BUT with my puppies I always started them on goats milk, to teach them to lap, and a very tiny amount of raw lean mince once a day. And as said, continued to mix just a very small amount with their puppy kibble (just one of the daily meals) - again with absolutely no problems. I am aware that raw feeders say not to mix the two however.
