Most definitely worth it. I was having a look at places that took dogs, and found that a lot meant ONE dog, and no bigger than a Toy Poodle!
I had not been on holiday since 1976, and this was in 2003. I sent an email to the Torquay Tourist Board as I had been looking at North Devon with no luck. As I just needed to get away after losing Dad I didn't care where it was really. The people helping at Torquay, I can't praise enough. They did some delving and said there was a bungalow at Marldon. Country area only 3 miles from Paignton. The guy would not accept children, only animals. One couple went every year and took their 2 parrots!
I took 2 Bearded Collies, one terrier cross and a Toy Poodle. I had the time of my life, and the dogs were really good. We found lots of hidden coves and my old blind terrier even enjoyed paddling in the rock pools. The owner came to see how we were doing, and I had just returned after a day out at Slapton Sands. I was unloading the car when he arrived and he wanted to know why the dogs were waiting in the down position when they could have run off, as there was no gate on the driveway. I just smiled and said, why would they want to leave me?
It was this break that made me buy the static. Having a bolthole really suits me, and I felt that I deserved it since I hadn't had a holiday in 27 years. :-)
