Touch wood, mine really hasn't kicked in as yet, although I have been a little bit itchy eyed and sneezy the last couple of days. Luckily I don't have asthma, or other breathing problems with it, but when it's bad I can't actually open my eyes in the mornings, as the eyelashes are fused together with "sleep".
I did go to my docs a few years ago to enquire about the injections, they refused on the basis that it didn't work for everyone, and I wouldn't be able to use anything else if it didn't work. As it stands I can't use any tablets as they all make me drowsy, even the non drowsy ones, and as I commute by Motorbike it's not a risk i can take. So i might go back and see what they can do now.
I've found that glasses help (or a crash helmet), so will always wear my sunglasses when I go out at this time of year. Have you tried rubbing some vaseline around his nostrils. Boots were selling something called "HayMax" last year, which was basically a little pot of vaseline type stuff that was supposed to catch the pollen before it got into the nose?
