I have a dog who has, in the past week, started to have episodes of uncontrollable urination. He's been absolutely fine otherwise but on three separate occasions has just stood in the house and wet himself. It appears to be involuntary - he doesn't even try to cock his leg - and the amount of wee he produces in these episodes is excessive. The thing that concerns me is that he is still urinating normally otherwise and does not appear to have any problems weeing.
This same dog has been to the vets a lot recently as regards some involuntary leg spasms which happen irregularly but, when they do happen, are quite severe (he kicks a single back leg very hard for a short time). He's been x-rayed and there appear to be no physical deformities in his hips or spine, but the vets aren't willing to do any more unless I can video his leg spasm episodes for them to see. This will be hard since they happen irregularly and without warning.
I'm not sure whether the recent excessive urination is connected to the spasms. Anyone have any idea what might causes the urination, or whether it might be connected to his intermittent uncontrolled leg-kicking? I wil probably have to take him back to the vets again but since there is nothing for them to see, and my dog appears overall very healthy, I'm not sure what they can do.
