Hi im just wondering if your dog had a indury to his ear can this affect the showing? thanks

What kind of injury?

My male has a tear in his ear that is about 2 cms long, but it is covered by plenty hair ;-)

He had it when he won Best In Show at the Large Munsterlander Club Championship Show 2008, so I think it would depend on the injury.

scars generally aren't detrimental

Have you asked his breeder what they think or other Shiba exhibitors?
- By vinya Date 02.03.10 00:04 UTC
its not a breed fault so there is no reason why you cant show him

I can't see it being an issue.Kira has a small scar on her nose and has only been asked once about it by a judge and has won a couple of reserve BOB and Shadows ears were really slow coming up and even won a puppy group with cardboard stuck as a splint in his ears!!Our breed standard also mentions battle torn ears are permissable.Good luck Jude.
