Hi im just wondering if your dog had a indury to his ear can this affect the showing? thanks
What kind of injury?
My male has a tear in his ear that is about 2 cms long, but it is covered by plenty hair ;-)
He had it when he won Best In Show at the Large Munsterlander Club Championship Show 2008, so I think it would depend on the injury.
hes torn his ear when he was a puppy... but he has ashort hair so wont really grow over, so im not sure about the showing? Please write bak thanks

scars generally aren't detrimental
what does that mean sorry not good with words... hes has done it while being outdoors so not a fault with in his breeding.. thanks

they don't really class them as a fault

Have you asked his breeder what they think or other Shiba exhibitors?

its not a breed fault so there is no reason why you cant show him

I can't see it being an issue.Kira has a small scar on her nose and has only been asked once about it by a judge and has won a couple of reserve BOB and Shadows ears were really slow coming up and even won a puppy group with cardboard stuck as a splint in his ears!!Our breed standard also mentions battle torn ears are permissable.Good luck Jude.
