I am looking for a new dog. My American pit bull terrier died at christmas from old age. Dont want an inbred K.C. breed. Does anyone know if The Irish staffordshire bull terrier makes agood pet.

It is my understanding that they are different names for the same "breed" so it is likely you would know better than most?
Define your understanding of inbred.

Hi guest
I wonder what you see as the advantage of an unregistered 'breed' that could be anything & could have any number of health problems .These type of dogs sell for high prices and personally I would rather pay my money to a reputable breeder of pedigree dogs who has had all neccessary health checks done and researched the genetics of 'my puppy' .I know it is not a guarantee but its better than nothing.
If you think that an pedigree will have more health problems because it is inbred my experience has been the total opposite.I have 2 pedigrees from a reputable breeder from hip-scored and eye-tested lines who are completely healthy .I also have an unregistered very large staff who is often mistaken for a pit bull or american staff who at present has cost me £700+ in vets bills in the last 7 months ,is due to have another operation probably costing around £500 next week and has arthritis which will need treatment for life!! -he is only 3 years old.
