have any of you used the wooden 'board type' games with your dogs? I want to get one, I like the box one, but jsut wondered if any of you have spent a lot of money on them then wished they hadnt?!
My Paps love the wooden games and got it very quickly, one is particularly good at the sliding one to find the treat concealed inside, their tails wag and they get all excited when they get their "prize" good to get a dog to use it brains :-)
Think your right they may well be better suited to the smaller breeds, shame they dont make bigger ones as well really because the dogs just love the games.
We have the dog brick (old type) it looks like a big domino that you hide a treat. dog then slides the cover over to find his prize. If you live near the North East you can have it, collect only.
We also bought a childs basket ball net from a toy shop, teach your dog to put the ball in the net and give a treat on completion.
Most of the Nina Ottoson games (I think these are the ones you mean) come in a plastic version as well - these are much tougher than the wooden ones, less likely to be chewed and can be easily washed (even in the dishwasher). My cockers have the dog brick and love it - they get so excited when I get the game out. They worked it out fairly quickly - though there are different games with different levels of difficulty.
i think someone mentioned the plastic ones i would need will be plastic. think the money may be better spent on treats of the food variety. i know they would be more appreciated.
