My dog has a histiocytoma on the side of her foot, it is quite large and she is on her 2nd lot of antibiotics.  The vet has done a cell sample and is happy to leave it at the moment because these normally go on their own accord. I am happy with all this as one of my other dogs had one on his leg and it did go but seemed to take ages.
Anyway what I would like is any useful tips to help it on its way.

My dog had a histiocytoma as well.  The vet gave me some cream (I can't remember the name, but I believe it may have been a steriod lotion) to rub on it twice a day.   I am not sure it made any difference whatsoever, but nonetheless the histiocytoma resolved itself and has not reappeared.

Unless your vet thinks there may be an infection or the tumour has ulcerated, antibiotics are of no benefit for histiocytomas in terms of making them disappear any quicker.

Thanks for your response.

She is on antibiotics as it is ulcerated, unfortunatly it's on the side of the foot so she does catch it sometimes.

Antibiotics and steroids just tend to make them a bit more angry looking, use tee tree oil or try get some camphorated water from the chemist and dab it on 2 or 3 times a day.

We have the same problem with young Boxers but they do grow out of it by the time they are about 3.

Thanks for that information.  It has cleared up fine now.  Not sure if this made any difference but she was in season at the time and as soon as that finished the histiocytoma seemed to calm down and not look so sore.  I will keep in mind your suggestions as it is always useful to know what is ok to use and worth trying.
Thank you.

My pup had one of these and I treated it homeopathically, cleared up really quickly.  If yours suffers from it again you can give them Thuja 6x and also use calendula cream to stop any itchyness.
