Only a few breeds have tickets so I would think those without would be less than one of the summer champ shows

Nor mine....245 aint too low and I will be in the 2 biggest classes..as usual. I expect 25-30 in each :-(

Ah well as long as it doesn't snow.

I think they need to schedule more breeds..... 75 in AVNSC Pastoral is ridiculous!!  I will bet that most of the entries are from breeds that would normally have CC's at a champ show!  We have Open shows in our area that have more breed classes scheduled than at Boston!  I know it's a new show, and they do have more breeds scheduled than last year, let's just hope it improves even more next year!

This is our first year attending Boston, thought we would do that rather than Manchester!  We wil have a fun day, whatever happens in the ring! :)

why not ring the secretary with your thoughts she is very nice and open to your thoughts.
- By phoenix1 Date 02.01.09 17:31 UTC
I have no doubt that the Secretary has been asked about this countless times before, particularly after the first show (I think only one pastoral breed was scheduled??).  So things are improving - perhaps as the show grows in size, they will be able to get more classes put on?

I am looking forward to going to the show - I haven't done a 'new' Champ show for quite some time!!

I know my breed was given not  CC last year but this year is the first with an entry of 181 so hopefully that speaks volumes as many people have said it is a lovely show .

I think alot of it is deciding what breeds to put on depending of who supports the show in AVNSC :)

I would expect priority will be given to those breeds that have CC and then to those who will give good support, the venue is not that big so how much it is able to grow will depend on space and if the show is able to cover it's expenses if and when it does widen the classification.

I went last year, when Beardies didn't have CC's (entry was 30+ I think). This years entry (137, making 181) seems about right for the time of year etc. Plus, beardies have a Swedish breed judge. It was very well organised last year, the halls at Newark looked completely different, linked by the really nice gazeebos, good flooring, good heating system too. The BIS ring looked very good too. With more breeds having CC's this year, it will be interesting to see how it's developed.
