Oh my goodness, I know that Christmas Day falls on the same day each year - but, I am SO dis-organised and can't believe that this time next week will be Christmas Eve??  Anyone in the same boat?? Dawn

> Oh my goodness, I know that Christmas Day falls on the same day each year - but

Actually it's the fact that it's not the same day which throws me.  If it was a named day like Shrove Tuesday or Ash Wednesday or Easter Sunday, it might be easier.  Have you noticed how the day gets lost under the titles; Christmas Day, Boxing Day etc?  I find it so hard to fix in my mind what actual day of the week it is without constantly looking in the diary.  I'm trying to plan visits and end up saying 'the day after Boxing Day', or 'the day before New Years Eve'!!

Ooh listen to me - I do believe that was a mini rant :)  I'll put that down to a week with the in-laws!  They left today so peace will gradually descend - I'm taking calming breaths...

This time next week it will all be over here as Christmas Eve is the day that counts for us. Buying last presents tomorrow, no idea when I will do all the baking -no freezer space due to meat for the animals taking up all the space!

I finish work on Friday...I have had some kind of mental block, I was convinced I had an extra week before Christmas arrived! Yes I was actually relying on it too.

Karen :(

How spooky is that....me too!!!!

I have never ever been so organised, I am always rushing around on Christmas Eve doing my Christmas shopping but this year I have finished and got most of it under the tree wrapped.

I have even had 2 of my presents off Stu because they wouldn't last till Christmas!!!

>Anyone in the same boat??

Yep - yesterday I had to book someone an appointment for 1 week's time and the date came up as Christmas Eve, and my jaw dropped because I hadn't realised it was so close!
- By Pinky Date 18.12.08 09:28 UTC
You finished work on Friday!!!  Do you mean you're off now till after Chrimbo/New Year. If so, greeeeeen is my colour.

We don't get to escape until Xmas Eve, if we're lucky they may let us knock off a bit ealier.
- By Crespin Date 18.12.08 10:19 UTC
I have very little done.  The only thing I have gotten as far as Christmas shopping goes are the bows to go on the presents, but I havent got the presents yet!

I havent done Christmas baking yet either!  I am so far behind, and it just seems to be coming quicker, and I cant get things done.

Maybe just postpone Christmas pressies until I get the time to go to the store?  Dont think people would mind if I just wait until next year, it gives me more time LOL

Met a old friend on the bus the other day and as useual the chat turned to xmas, She was moaning it had come around to quick this year. I found it so funny because it was like she was blaming someone for moving the date. She was saying she hasnt had a chance to get anything done . I had to laugh and say its the same date every year and youve had a year to buy stuff.

I have brought all the pressies, cards sent just need to wrap them up. Its only the kids and hubbies everyone elses is done. Only the kids lol they have loads. I still need to do a big food shop, make mince pies, ice the cake. ......................

better get a move on lol

I have just shopped a bit on line the rest I intend to get Saturday and hope for the best,  Sunday dinner with friends then back to work Monday until 15.00 Xmas eve...... We have as a family decided to downsize a bit ....just as well LOL
One bonus of this virus is I have lost half a stone!!!!!!

Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
