Hopefully I'm not going to get beaten over the head by people in my breed, but I do have to ask this question.

If a Championship show schedule has a class typed in it, but there's no definition for it & it actually was a typo 'cos the organisers don't actually mean to have said class in the show, how do I stand on entering that class?  IMHO I should be able to enter the class as it's in the schedule & therefore they should put the class on but then I'm being incredibly biaised ;-)

Well as I know what you are on about even though not in the breed!!  and not going to beat you round the head - you could in theory enter the class as if you didn't know it was a typo!

But they may move you to the next applicable class anyway when the process the entry?  Think it says something like that doesn't it - if you aren't eligible they will put you in the next class?

Someone who knows about rules will probably know better!!

Don't know about the typo thingy, but surely if you are in the wrong class they put you into the open class? Though I think you could argue the typo thing and get put into the right class ;-)

Wouldn't it be best to phone the secretary to confirm it?

the class scheduled is Special Yearling which my 9 month old puppy would be eligible for.  He won't be eligible for Yearling which is what it's supposed to be.  the only other class in the schedule is Open, which is what I'd get transferred to anyway.  And no, there isn't a puppy class.

We give some breeds sp yearling and it is for dogs 6 months to 2 years but it should be explained in the schedule because special classes can mean anything you want them to.

Remember once phoning another show society to ask if they realised they had no classes for puppies at all, they thought they had classified Sp yearling (6 to 24 months) but the printer had printed Yearling and stated it to mean what it does, 1 to 2 years.
