Got up this morning to find the hall tarred with black diarrhea, yuk.

Took Ellie (yes, poor old Golden again) to the vets, looks like her gut has reacted to the Previcox now in a similar way to the Metacam, but further up in her intestine, hence the black poo!  After 2 HUGE injections, we now have 7, yes 7 different types of medication for her, prescription diet and another appointment for Tuesday.  Initially the vet tried to say that it was because I feed her and the others a raw diet, ie its the bones or salmonella (I'm VERY careful about hygiene), but eventually said that it was highly likely to be the Previcox, given that she had a similar reaction to the Metacam.

My poor girl, I think this will be her last Christmas.  I'm so worried about her, I nearly burst into tears at the vet.  I feel so horrible, because I know she won't be with me for very much longer I feel a bit like I'm waiting for her to die which makes me feel just awful.

PS on a more positive note - thanks to everyone who recommended the Vax to me a while ago - it earned every penny it cost me today!!

Sorry to hear tht Ellie is not well, no advice to offer but just wanted to say I hope she makes a full recovery and I am keeping my fingers crossed for her xx

She seems  bit better today. She's certainly enjoying 4 meals a day!!

It's horrible when they're ill, isn't it? Especially when each illness might be their last :(
