Arghhhhh my washing machine packed up over the weekend  My 10yr old managed to get the door open so I could get the washing out, but I NEED my machine - I do so much washing :(
I've been washing by hand eagerly awaiting a new washing machine that was meant to arrive this Wed. I had a message saying my payment (debit card) had been declined, I 'phoned the bank and they told me thier fraud department had put a stop on my card as there had been several on-line purcheses. I confirmed it was me using the card & they lifted the block, so my new washing machine is back on order but wont be here untill Thur now :(

Its a little frustrating that my card was blocked, but it's reasuring to know the bank is on the ball.

My dad would do my washing for me but his machine has just glitched & is awaiting repair - he was hoping I could do his washing for him!

I'm so glad we live in the age of washing machines, it's a lot of work hand-washing.

Roll on Thursaday & the arrival of my machine!! :)

Time for a neighbour to lend a helping hand I would have thought or maybe investigations into local laundrettes?

i know just how you feel.
my gas hob died on me a few weeks ago and i have been waiting for OH to get someone in to fit the new one.
Three weeks of rubbish mirowave meals before he finlly parted with the cash to get a man in to fit it.
How tight is that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is torture isn't it?  My washing machine broke the other month and I had a feeling it was an underwire from a bra which was confirmed when I eventually got the door open.  My neighbour offered to let the repair man in as I was at work and I don't know who was most embarrassed - the man to fix it or her when he came to her with the under wire from my e-cup bra.  It must have been like pulling out the enormous turnip! lol

LOL
if my underwire got caught in the machine I doubt it would do much damage as it's so small, LOL, I'm not blessed in the bra department!

Hubby forgot about the machine being broken, when he came in from work, asked me if I could wash his jacket. He's a builder and his clothes get in a right state, so it will have to wait, I'm not going to try to get them clean by hand. It's amazing how housewifes managed before washing machines!! And vacuume cleaners - wow, now that is something I definately couldn't be doing without!!!!

I bet these OH's wouldn't have forgotten/postponed if it was their car/tools/golf clubs/bbq/shower that was broken! Men! Ha ha.

My washing machine broke down a few weeks ago.
Repair man came out, and extracted a certain piece of my underware that doesnt ciover much of the nether regions!!!!!
Put it all back together and was sorted, no charge :) Think he was laughing too much at my blushiong!!!!
It did the same again on Sunday. So this time my self and my dad extracted the underware.... and couldnt get the seal back in.
So out comes washing machine repair man to fix it again,. Again free of charge (bless him) and his passing comment as he left, 'maybe I should wear bigger underware' :o :o :o :o :o
Lea :D :D :D

Get one of those laundry bags to put your undies in - will stop wires vanishing into the workings of the machine and other things going astray :)

I swear by these and now thanks to CD I have a bag for my doggie bits as well.
Bra's can be a right pain, and there not cheap to buy either.

Our washing machine was terminal too and our new one also comes tomorrow.  In the meantime I've just found myself planning the first wash - HELP!!!

We are leaving for Birmingham in the morning.  The kids and dogs will be home with MIL so just OH and I in a hotel, some shopping, the german christmas market and craft fair, dinner for two, then LKA on Friday - you'd think I have more exciting things to think about...

I'm going to write my lines now  - I must not fantasise about white goods, I must not fantasise about white goods, I must not fantasise about white goods

Yes but it's a Miele and I've wanted one for ages, a 32 minute quick wash, wide door, big capacity

STOP ME****     I must not fantasise about white goods, I must not fantasise about white goods...

According to my MIL it arrived shortly after we left on Thursday.  Just got back from Birmingham and I'm doing the 'set up wash', no detergent, now.  Proper washing tomorrow.  Yippee!!

Well done on your self plumb - hope it was ok :)

The German market was great and very busy on Thursday night.  It's open til 9pm and there was a fabulous atmosphere despite the weather. The hats and gloves were selling really well as it was a bit cold and the barrels of beer were being drained very quickly!  Friday morning was much quieter and I got a chance to revisit some stalls and find things I hadn't noticed in the dark the night before

We did buy quite a few things as gifts mostly although I would have bought more for me if funds weren't quite so low!  We had recently been to the market in Bath which was ok but much smaller and more craft orientated, the Birmingham one has a lot more food and German products.  Lots of handmade chocolate too...

We were due to go to LKA at the NEC on the Friday morning to watch some friends in the breed classes but my OH wasn't feeling well and by the time we got home, neither was I.  Luckily all healthy again now and happily washing everything I can find, in my new machine - it's brill :)
