im having problems with the sound on my pc, the speakers seem to be working (they pop when switched on and off) but no sound.  Im sure last time it happened there was some sort of mute button on the pc but I cant find it.  does anyone have any ideas ?

On the bottom right hand corner of your screen there is a row of icons and the volume button is the one that looks like a loudspeaker.  Click on it and drag the 'switch' up.

Sorry if this is too basic- click in the little speaker symbol right hand bottom of the screen- this should show you the volume. Might also be worth going into settings/volume/sound in control panel and see if that gives you any clues. I once accidentally turned the sound down on my tv- I unplugged everything, reset the tv and gave up! I then realised I didn't even check the volume button- duh!! Hope this helps!! :-)
