i mated my little girl over 4 weeks ago , last week she had really bad dioreah? and sickness and had small amounts of blood coming from her back end, vet said its was Gastroenteritus she was kept in for a full day with a iv drip, got her back and she perked up and seemed back to her old self again i fed her chicken and rice, scrambled egg all the easy stuff for her little stomach, then wednesday she stopped eating i assumed she was ill again had her back at vets he said temp was normal she had good colour just to leave her ,took her back to vets again this morning as she still has not eaten he says she will eventually eat, but im getting really worried i have tried everything i can think of to get her to eat, vets says if she not eaten tomorrow to bring her back in, does anyone have a suggestions that i could try,how long can they go without food she is 7kg just now, she was weighed at the vets and has not lost any weight..many thanks in advance ..

my girl has had 2 litters and about the stage yours is at now she did go off her food. However as soon as chicken/rice or white fish/rice was put down she ate it straight away. On her 1st litter she had a small bleed at about 5 weeks and i was advised from a very experienced breeder to ask the vet to prescribe antibiotics just in case. To be on the safe side I would ask your vet if he can give her AB's (sorry but i can't remember the name of the particular one but obviously your vet will know). Just keep trying her on the chicken/rice or buy some coley fish steaks, these can be m/waved in few mins.
Good Luck and hope she is o.k.
she was not long on antibiotics when she has the sickness and dioreah? about a week ago i think they were noroklav? tried her on butchers tinned tripe she ate a small teaspoon that was it, will try some fish tomorrow will whitening be okay i dont like fish llol or the smell, but its worth a try. many thanks for your advice
