On Monday i turned on the computer and it had dumped EVERYTHING .
I'm not bothered about anything other than my photos .
Does anyone know if i can retrieve my photos from the deepest , darkest depths of my computer or is it a lost cause ?

Try www.picassa.co.uk. I've used it and found all the photos on my computer - hope it helps!
How did you find your photos ? Sorry , i'm a complete techno-phobe !!
This programme trayls through your computer and finds all you photos. Think if i remember right you need to install it. I also use their web albums to store all my photos electronically.

I'm not sure if it's still available, but I have a program called Zero Assumption, it searches your hard drive for all deleted picture files and restores them.

There should be something on your pc that can reset your computer to how it was on a certain date, so you could reset it to the day before you lost your photos. I know it is there somewhere, I have used it once before it took ages to find though.

I think this is how it is done on your PC- if you go into 'programs' then Accessories, go to SYSTEM TOOLS, open it up and you can enter a date you want the Computer restored to and you should be able find what is missing. I have not needed to do this myself but it should work. Joany
Hubby says he has tried this and the piccies are not there ! However i shall persist as there are at least 1 years worth of family photos lost .
A warning to us all to print off or burn off photos regularly , or store them somewhere else safe .
