No I think they're supposed to be something like the glitterballs you used to see at dico's (showing my age here)
They're studs with lots of little stones in them.

If its the ones I'm thinking of (stud earings with crystals/diamantes dotted all over them on a silver, gold or even a gumetal coloured ball), you can get them in Warren James the jeweller from about £6 to £25, depending on how big you want them.
