If a breeder wishes to lift an endorsement on a puppy they have bred and they write to the KC to request this, does the dog's registration certificate have to be sent with the letter.  I think basically my question is does the new owner of the puppy have to return the registration to the breeder before removal of an endorsement can be dealt with.

No they dont need to return it.
The breeder needs to send a letter to the KC asking to likt the endorsements on such a such dog (giving dogs full kc name)

Many thanks Carolyn.  Do you know if this counts as a registration query and the letter should go to the Aylesbury office of the KC?  Sorry one more question, do both endorsements have to be lifted or can only one be (this will never be an issue but just interested!)

Yes goes to Aylesbury, I lifted one on a dog I bred a few years ago. I only lifted the one for breeding not the other.

The breeder asks for the endosement to be lifted by letter.  The Kennel Club then inform the BREEDER that the endorsement has been lifted, and obviously alter their computer records.

What is really silly is that they do not inform the OWNER.

I have raised this with them saying that it would make sense to write to the registered owner also.

Yes it is odd that the KC dont inform the registered owner. I send a photocopy of the letter from the KC to the owner of the dog/bitch so that they can keep this with the dogs registration papers.
