Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Thoughts On Royal Canin

I have just made a leap over to Royal canin as this was recommended for fussy eaters! And at the moment it is going down well. Was just wondering what others think of it?

I've just stopped feeding it to my Papillons as they refused it so frequently LOL. Six of one, half a dozen of another I think, all dogs are different.

I have just switched my 11 week old pup to Royal Canin from Beta, he will only eat it if I mix Butchers tripe or puppy pouches with it.

I weaned a litter of pups with RC, the first week they were ok, then 5 of them got the runs which seemed to go on forever so I had to mix it with raw to get them right. The other 3 were ok on it though.

I feed all my dogs on R.C. I wean my litters on to their puppy food, and they go through life eating RC's different varieties, depending on age and needs. I've always been happy with it, and the dogs like it, and do well on it, both health- and stool-wise ;-)

Same here, mine get RC and only the different variety changes dependent on age.  The coats are superb on it.  I do however, feed half wet half dry.

I am also a RC fan - my puppies do wonderfully well on it and I encourage new owners to continue with it for as long as possible as I do appreciate it is expensive.  The girls I have here who have been raised totally on it are very well boned dogs - so I will not change.

I now feed Barf, but previously fed R.C to all my dogs from puppyhood to adults for the past 6 or seven years. They all did very well on it.But everyone has there own preference.
