I just want to share this.

Whislt out walking my Pointer found a scarve. Nothing special ,one of the type kids start to kinit on, big chunky wool, 30 stitches ,big needles lots of plain stitches. He was very pleased with him self and gave it to us as a trophy. We hung it on a bush only for him to run back and retreive it. We gave up and decided to let him carry it back to the car park, which he did for all 3+ miles with it wound  around his neck . We then went for a coffee, while we sat drinking our coffees,he enjoyed all the attention he was getting because of the scarve...He was very pleased with it. We then forgot to leave it behind.
Well for the last four days it is a case of, where is the dog ,oh, there is the scarve. He will not be parted from it. I went to move it last night and he was quite put out.

What a plum LOL

Maybe he was feeling the cold? Or he found his more feminine side ;-)

aww that is too cute!

My aunt has a male dobe, that has to have his "blankie" when out about in the house.  While having house time, he needs it draped over his rear, and he will walk around the house with it on.  When he lays down, he will suckle on it.

The cute things dogs do!  Bless em!

Oh Bless him, he is obviously very proud of his find clever boy!  I love pointers too

What a clever boy, you know what to buy him for Christmas then, infact you could take up knitting!!!

Only thing my dog wanted to bring home was a dead rat, flat as a pancake (run over by tractor, I should imagine). She picked it up, I got it off her & threw it, she retrieved it. I put her on the lead, took her 2 fields away & guess what, she retrieved it again. Needless to say, she did not bring it home. It was rancid.

Reminds me of my younger brother he always wore one of my hats as a child and when Mum washed it he sat crying under the line until it dried.  Thanks for that memory he died aged 19 and Im sat here with a big smile remembering with joy his face...

You are welcome... my Dad died when I was 18.  I can still hear his voice and his laugh x

my late gran's lakeland did this once.  He found a decoy duck on one of his walks and that dirty rubbery plastic duck was taken everywhere for around two weeks until he eventually demolished it.  It was truly his prized possesion.

That's lovely, your boy sounds like such a sweetie!

I love it when dogs are really proud of something and parade the item around for everyone to see - my friend's Rottie pup pinched one of our dogs' squeaky balls from our house once - she looked so pleased with herself that I couldn't take it off her!

:-) :-) That is just so cute! :-) :-)

I know of a few dogs that have blankeys but a scarf is so much more stylish! :-D

oh that is sooooo... cute, bless him!

one of mine tried to walk out the vets yesterday with one of their xmas toys dangling from the display.  I had to laugh, what would you call that doggie shoplifting??
- By Freds Mum [gb] Date 28.11.08 09:58 UTC
Thanks for sharing that. Has brought a big smile to my face!!
Bless them. Its when they do things like that, that we forget the walking in the cold & horizontal rain, or pulling things out of their bum, or getting up in the night for them as puppies. It makes it all seem worthwhile :-)
