Can anybody PLEASE help.
I have a 4 year old Jack Russell Terrier whom lives we me and my boyfriend in Macclesfield.
We now both work full-time and he is left in our house all alone most of the day.
Does anybody know of any Dog-Walkers etc in the Macclesfield, Cheshire area? I have tried everywhere, vets, dog warden, kennels but can't seem to find one.
Could anyone come up with any solutions?
Many thanks, Nancy

Nancy, have you tried putting a postcard in your local newsagents? Also, did you check with the boarding kennels to see if they offer a 'day board' service?

I have a friend who lives in Whaley Bridge. She does some dog walking for people in her area but Macclesfield may be a bit too far away. But I will ask her if she knows of anyone closer to you.

Hi Nancy,
I live in Macclesfield!!!! (small world eh?) Although I mainly lurk on here to learn :-) I do know a dog-walker she lives across the road from me, in fact we are going to a party there tonight, if you would like me to ask her for you please let me know, she has 2 dogs herself and is a lovely person.

Nancy,
a suggestion.... that you edit your post a bit just on the rare off chance that someone who isn't very ethical, is surfing online for opportunities to cause mischief. :( There's enough info to pinpoint your exact address and times that you are absent :(

Did you try advertising in your local newsagents window or ask about 'day boarding' ?
- By Nancy [gb] Date 06.11.02 08:43 UTC
I didn't want to advertise in the local newsagents as I don't want just anyone ringing me and saying that they will walk my dog. I really want someone that does it for a living so that I know he is in safe hands.
I asked the local kennels about day boarding and they don't do it.
Thanks, any more advise would be greatly received?

I miss read your post then. Maybe you should edit your original post to say *Professional* Dog Walker :-) I would guess that if your vets and local boarding kennels do not know of anyone who walks dogs professionally in your area, then you're up the proverbial creek without a paddle. Have you tried Yellow Pages?

Nancy,
click on "Options' in the upper right hand corner.
Then there's an option to display/not display your email addy to the public that you can choose.
hth.
