Thanks everyone for your help. Today I spoke to the local dog warden who was very helpful and has advised me that the dog warden in Stroud has picked up a yellow labrador. Another poor dog dumped it would seem, but also believed to be a stolen dog too!
Any help with information on this would be appreciated. Message as received from Stroud below.
This little girl was found by a member of the public on 19/11/08 in a village called North Nibley nr Dursley and Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire. She has been at our vets ever since and only came off her drip this morning. I am please to report that she is doing well, but won't be released from the Vets until Mon.
Labrador

Approx 2-3yrs
Recently had pups
V. Thin
Small build
Old injury to right ear
Old, but not healed, injury to right eye
No Collar, tag or chip
I have a strong feeling this one has been stolen and dumped. She was in a pretty bad way when she arrived at the Vets, very dehydrated, vomiting, high temp, thin, weak and caked in mud. We are keen to speak to whoever got her into this state and to speak with anyone who's recently bought a lab puppy from the area.
