We are hoping that Father Christmas will be bringing a gaming chair (!) so can anyone recommend one or tell me what features we should be looking for ?
Thanks in advance .

I think they are advertised on the "I want one of those" website.

My OH has just got Guitar Hero World Tour so I'm trying to keep him away from other computer/gaming stuff lol.

This might help, although they look very expensive!

So glad you're confused to Sam - there was me thinking THIS   perhaps it's  THIS  or similar they're after ............ :-D  No idea really!

Seems to be a new trend :-)  Have seen them this last week or two in the TV adverts.

This seems to be the style of many of them http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/product.asp?id=15112&random=&cid=&src=Search

LOL - so I still got it wrong :-D

I saw the home cinema type last weekend when we were furniture shopping - I couldn't believe the price of them but wouldn't be tempted even if they were a fiver :-D

Luckily OH has no inclination towards games of that ilk - a nice meal out and catching up with Corrie or X Factor on a regular chair does him fine!

Sounds like us, Home sweet home.

Mind you if you on the hunt for comfy chairs we bought 2 x 2 seater reclining La-z boys and a single rocking recliner for our back living room where we watch the TV and the dogs lounge about it and they were one of the best things I have every bought. Beautifully made and so soft. Only down side is motivating yourself back out them to do things.   I don't think the La-z boys ever look super trendy but you wouldn't swap them once you had them. ;-)

Gosh i cant decide if i like them or not!! I wouldnt buy one, wayyyy to expensive, and whats wrong wiht a normal chair and volume on tele ? lol! its gaming gone mad!!

However i think the true gamers will benefit and enroll in this chair, bit pricey though isnt it, and i wouldnt mind a go on someones!

We were looking for something lazier again Pam - mattresses LOL.  It's a minefield out there - so many spring systems, micro-fibre, memory foam, latex, cool covers, warm covers .................................. still looking!

I found an absolute fave, could hardly drag me off it - the price of a small house within spitting distance of a bus stop OH said :-p  I reckon just as good an investment too :-D

Oh tell me about it Teri, I have been on the bed and matress search also. Narrowed it down to two though and have been researching for months. Latex seems to be the improvement on the Memory foam matresses.

I had my whole bedroom/en suite re done top to bottom this last month and Jez I am still recovering.  A couple years ago I went from a lovely frame bed back to a divan now going back to a frame and Mattress.  I was really disappointed with the divan and of course cheesed off as I had such a lovely frame bed I bought from Laura Ashley in the sale and then gave it to my sister when I got the divan :-(    I have now had to buy another one at twice the price.  Good beds are so expensive.

I'll be glad when it is all finished hopefully this weekend.

Ohh i have a memory foam matress and its the best thing i have had in my life, its so comfy and its amazing!!! Love it so much, what are these latex matresses? Enlighten me, sleep is the best thing ever, you gotta be comfy :)

We had Feb through to July with builders, plumbers, electricians, decorators - you have my sympathy poppet!

I have a frame bed too - prefer the look of them - so in search for mattresses for ours and also daughter's frame bed too.  We need SK so makes it a tad more difficult as some models don't come in that size and the ones that do are extortionate.  That said, should last a good 10 years and a decent night's sleep with good support is invaluable (unlike the mattresses themselves it seems :-D )

Hy yorkies4eva

latex is similar to memory foam but bounces back slightly quicker and also moulds more quickly too with body temperature.  Its also slightly cooler than memory foam but TBH if comparing similar quality memory foam with latex (i.e. equal thickness of padding and actual density) it's impossible to tell the difference in a showroom situation so all sales gobbledegook probably!

Ohhh thanks for that Teri!!!

Was just wondering, there are so many different types out there and they are fairly expensive i think... when i eventually get a house of my own, ill be sleeping on a lumpy coat! :-P

Oh we're super king too :-)

That is why I was so miffed after letting my lovely frame go as they are so expensive to replace. Never again on the Divan.. :-(

Found a lovely oak one this time though and it is beautiful but I did love my last one ( tried to get it back from sis through bribery but she was having none of it :-D)

I have noticed this last year though that the SK s are so much easier to find.   I'll need to dig out my saved links but the two I narrowed down to after trying were very competitive with their prices when I then searched online.

from Reviews and trying myself I thought the Latex seemed better.  The memory foam does seem to have temp problems hence all the latest " cool down" covers.

The half and half seems to me to be the best all round. ( half and half I mean sprung but latex topped)

ive just looked a t the link Blue...OMG what nonsense!!!! I reckon if the OP went to local scrap yard and took a couple of bucket seats out of an old ford escort, it would look the same!!!

They are not just a chair !
They have speakers in the headrest and some are 'wireless' , among other things !
Nobody admitting to having one then ?
