I'm not looking to restart previous discussions but someone on another list asked if anyone had ever heard of Sibes doing competitive obedience. Someone has answered about one down under which is actually a SH/OB Champion but are tere any more. Just doing not necessarily winning

i have seen several huskies in training. there heelwork is bright and active and they can work well. look best with a spritly handler as they are fast workers. attention holder necessary for training......im impressed. look for young pup who walks up to you and sits by your feet . a sure winner good luck

In USA a lot of Obedience competitions are indoors, so the risk of the dog running off, is less, so Husky's certainly do compete in this sphere, as do most breeds.

Well two of my huskies have done the KC Club obdience training, Saskia started when she was 12 weeks old and she did a great job of it. :) She picked up all the heel work and recalls great :) The trainer there did tell me that huskies were one of the hardest dogs to train as it is not in there nature to run to you on demand there nature is just to run, run, run.

The trainer said Saskia had picked the work up very well and she was doing just aswell as the bordercollies there and the staffs etc.

Know Zeus on the other hand was a bit harder work  I think that was due to him starting when he was older and he had already got into his stubborn ways. Supriseingly he did the recall the best it was the stay he found hard to do.
