Gosh, i have a lot of questions today!!!

Just drawn a name out of the hat, there is a fiver limit and its a girl... any ideas for a nice secret santa present?
- By earl [fr] Date 10.11.08 14:58 UTC
How old is she?
- By yorkies4eva [gb] Date 10.11.08 15:29 UTC
Not sure, think she is around 22 or something, she is around my age so fairly young
- By earl [fr] Date 10.11.08 15:55 UTC
Well that should be easy then, what would you like to get? :)

Boots have some really nice gifts for £5 as do Marks & Spencer.  Does she do outdoor things or does she wait for public transport to get to work?  If so, M&S have these great hand warmer things that you boil for a few minutes then click the switch inside to heat them up.

Secret Santas are a great idea, you need to make it funny - how about a trip to Ann Summers??
- By yorkies4eva [gb] Date 10.11.08 16:28 UTC
Haha, i dont want to get all embarrased though, i get all shy when handing out gifts and we will be handing them out at our christmas lunch, so i couldnt cope with that, i would die haha!!!

Might take a peek on the M&S website then!! :)

It's a present-giving system where each person buys a small gift for someone else in the group, and nobody knows who is giving what - the actual giver is anonymous.

I got something great last year for mine. A leather passport cover. Which was a tongue in cheek pressie as my dog ate my passport at the beg of Dec 2 days before i was due to fly out to Egypt. The passport office couldn't rush anything through that quickly.. Gutted i had to miss out.. Even went up to Gatwick to speak to the airline to see what they thought, it was to damaged to do anything with it..

My poor friend had to go without me...

So is there anything which she has wanted or something which has been funny through out the year for added humour?
- By Lea Date 10.11.08 17:56 UTC
Right I wont put the links on but I have just found some of the things I would get!!!!
If you go to the ann summers website and type in these item numbers :-

17931
13510

Hope that helps :) :)

If you don't know who the recipient is going to be I think the Anne Summers idea is too risky of offence.  In fact even if you know the recipient you would have to know her well enough to be sure she would not be embarassed or offended.  This is Christmas after all not a hen night :-)
- By sam Date 11.11.08 09:25 UTC
ok humour me....why would a group of people do that???? im confused. surely you only buy chrissie pressies for someone special or important....and then you choose a gift carefully? As for the anne summers idea......OMG id be mortified if someone gave me something like that!!!!!
- By yorkies4eva [gb] Date 11.11.08 09:52 UTC
Decided i cannot possibly do the Ann Summers idea, i have worked here only 3 months, and she has worked here less time than me, so i cant get her something like that as i dont know her well enough yet. LOL

Ill just check out some gift sites or something and see what i can come up with... thanks anyway

And lots of companies do secret santa, i cant believe you have never heard of it, lol, its a bit of fun at christmas and its only a fiver to buy a gift and shove it in a santa sack and then you pick out your gift... just to get in the spirit of things hehe :)

>>ok humour me....why would a group of people do that???? >>

Because it's fun Sam :-) but if i doesn't float your boat don't worry. We do it on a rat forum I'm on it's fun choosing presents mainly for the other person's rats.

Sam will now be convinced I'm totally insane ;-)

So that everyone at a work Christmas party (it's usually a work/office arrangement) gets a small gift, and nobody feels left out. Everyone goes home happy.

hey anne i have a lakeland terrier who would like to volunteer herself as a surprise santa for one of your rats please!!! :) :)
- By Whistler [gb] Date 11.11.08 17:01 UTC
We sort of do that for example we have a guy who is a terrible driver we got him "How to pass your driving test". One who is allergic to everything a pair of rubber gloves up to his armpits. A macho man "SAS survival hadbook" ect.. Pandy a real character, a bib and a tommy tippee mug.  Racing grannies for the office staff complete with a plastic silver cup for the winners, wind up snails ect... a real laugh...
- By AliceC Date 11.11.08 20:19 UTC
Sam, I have a little image in my head of your lakeland terrier dressed in a santa outfit just waiting, licking her lips in anticipation....:-)

Boots and M and S do lovely wee gifts like stacks of lipgloss and really girly things perfect for a secret santa. I think if you were a close knit group in an office the Ann Summers would be great, in fact I am going to suggest it for ours, we usually pick the names out of a hat but never keep it a secret cause we cannot help it and then we work out who's going to get us a gift heheeheh.

We've just drawn the names out of a hat last night at work. Seeing as we are working on Xmas eve night into Xmas day we will be handing out the presents then, probably going to be the first xmas present of the year.

I luckily have a good person to buy for. She is one of my best mates, so it should be easy as i know what she likes and doesn't like. I'm going to buy her something nice that can be used rather than a joke gift which will be thrown into a draw or away in the bin. Thats my worry, why spend money on something hilarious that gets a laugh at the time in which has no use in the future and then i feel a waste of money.
If the girl is a kinky watsit, you would generally know from hearing someone speak then yes Ann Summers would be prefect.

When i left my last job i was given a pair of furry handcuffs from AS, funny gift due to my current job but to be honest not something which i have ever used and IMO cheap and tacky.  - don't mean to offend anyone who enjoys using them.
