So you have Well over double the working years ahead of you!!!!!!!

You're never too old! What are you thinking of re-training in?

Go for it Dawn! I started a new career earlier this year at the age of 37. I just wish I'd done it years ago! Good luck.

I can't think of many things you'd be too old to re-train in.
Unless you want to be an astronaut or something I say go for it! :-)
I'm hoping to go back to uni (second attempt) in a few years to finish re-training in my chosen career and I'm almost 34. I wont let my age be a barrier - I've got so much more life left in me yet! Obviously as you get older the financial implications can be more considerable, but I wouldn't let my age be the only thing to stop me doing something.
Let us know what you decide (and what you want to do -I'm nosey).

You've just made my day calling me a whippersnapper, thanks x I guess I work with quite a young crowd so feel like the old one!!

One of my dads friends was an accountant, in his mid thirties he decided he'd had enough so retrained as a lawyer. He ended up 10 years later working as a Barrister in chambers in London. So not only can you change careers but you can do very well in your new one!

Your not old at all!!! Seriously go for it, otherwise you will go through life maybe regretting it!! Follow your dream, you no way near old though!! :D

Nothing high powered and glamorous! I'm now a postie. Love it though!
I retrained and got my best job at 35, Im on my forth re direction now and Im 53, you are a mere babby.

No way you are a young chickilito go for it, the only thing I will say depending what you choose, if you work full time and studying at night or day release and night it is hard going. after two years I was burnt out and told my OH to get his finger out and help, I was still doing everything so make sure you get everyone to support you so you have all your energy and don't get stressed.

Not too old at all to retrain. Its great to retrain but my concern would be having the money to tie you over while your in training. I worry about paying my bills.
So what line of work are you thinking about, would you be in training for long. EG: Vets for 7yrs or something which would take you a few months to train for.
my sister is 46 and has just gone into her last year at uni, im so proud of her, she is divorced with 2 children but has managed, so no its never to late,, you go for it and wishing you lots of luck,

Never too old. In the school where I work, we frequently have nurses during their first year of training, and recently we have had a trainee nurse in her early fifties (she doesn't look it mind). I think you should go for it - you only live once!
