Sorry if its a silly question but at what age do you stop calling your puppies puppies???

I've got a 5 1/2 year old bitch who I still call pup and puppy :)
The two I kept from my last litter are 6 1/2 now and we still sometimes refer to them as the puppies :) Somehow, having kept 2 of them and them living with both their parents, they seem stuck in perpetual puppyhood.
For showing classes, in the UK, they stop being puppies after 12 months.

12 months definately. But some dogs still seem to act like a silly pup all their life but I find most bitches seem to give up on the puppy stuff after their first season.

I would say that in my breed they become adult at two, and socially mature at four.

The youngest of mine remains a puppy till the next arrives, my present pup is 5 ;-)
My parents have a dog who never managed to acquire a name, we all called her puppy whilst they were thinking about it and the name stuck. As one of the alternatives was Edna perhaps that's no bad thing. She's now 16 and still called Puppy.
The youngest or newest dog sometimes gets called pup for longer than usual - our 'puppy' was 4 when the next real puppy came along.
From a show perspective they're not puppies after 12 months but for some breeds that really feels a bit soon doesn't it?! :)
Thats funny!!! Its a question i never knew the answer too!! With a boxer i think it will be "puppy" for life, they never grow up!!
