Hi, I'm just curious as to how many people actually feed Chum and are happy with it? I know it seems to get a big thumbs down from everyone, but, when I go to the champ shows, their stand always seems to be really busy and people are going away with bag loads of Chum products. I have to admit that I feed James Welbeloved as my gang do well on it, but my friend feeds Chum and her dog looks fantastic. Surely all the dog show folk aren't just buying it for the chance of getting on the telly adverts!!

I dont feed Pedigree Chum ..but if I won Crufts and was offered lotsa money to say I was great I would have to think for a few minutes before saying YES! to doing the advert ;)

Hi houndfan, I dont know the ins and outs of how exactly it works, but I suppose technically, if you had even given your dog a PC biscuit, then you had fed something made by PC?

Hi Melody, I'm afraid you dont get offered any money for the chum ads! Lots of free product though! When Mike did an ad for them about 6 years ago (Dexter was still not quite 1) we got cases and cases of the Chicken & Sunflower flavour which we were advertising. You sign up with them for the publicity - full page ads etc, not cash., when you win BIS at Crufts, and of course the TV ad spots immediately following Crufts.

A;sp when you win or place in the pedigree stakes classes you don't win actual money, but £X worth of product vouchers. With the Group two and Overall Champion Stakes win, I had £80 of product, so bought four big bags enough for my lot for 3 months.

I am on their breeder program, and some others. I like to give my puppies a mixture of the brands, so that new owners get a choice of which to put them on once what they take away with them runs out, and the pup is already used to it as part of the diet.

I have found the pedigree advance quite good, but mine are just that bit better in coat on the Arden Grange Adult (original not classic).

I have two labs who are fed on pedigree chum complete. The older one, who is nine, gets the senior version. Their coats are fantastically shiny and it certainly seems to work for them. I've had no complaints at all.

I use pedigree puppy pouches for my chocolate labrador, his coat is lovely and shiny and he is growing as he should be as well.

Over the years we have tried every possible brand of dog food from Chappie (YUK the smell) down thro supermarket own brands (messy usually). For years and years we only fed Winalot Prime then they changed the recipe to chunks in horrible slimy jelly - result the mess in the morning was just like we have taken from the tin. We tried Chum years ago without success but being desperate after the Prime episode we tried again with wonderful success. Coats gleam and the Cavaliers are so healthy from baby Star right thro to grannie Nell (15 years old). And no we don't win our Chum - we buy from a breeders outlet.
