I wanted to know whether there is actually a mini dal, I have found a website with a breeder that breeds the miniature dalmatian, the pups cost $750.00 each. Do you think there would be some defects in this breed, if it even is a recognized breed. You with probably find the site if you type "miniature dalmatian" into a search engine, I just want other peoples opinion on the "breed" as a pet.

Hi as far as I know there is no mini, it is, of course, possible for a breeder to decide to try and breed anything from undersize to 2 headed. Normal size Dalmatian do suffer with being deaf from birth and breeding for a speicial effect, like size, it is likely that other problems may be ignored. There may be mini's being bred in the USA where there seems to be a disire to own very small dogs but don't know of any being deliberatly bred in the UK. although there is a gene that causes dogs to be dwaft as there is in the human race.
