All,

Any tips or good practices? We are pretty inexperienced and would appreciate any help.

Was also wondering if they require feeding during the night like a baby would?

Going to pick her up in under an hour!!!!!!

How exciting!  Your breeder will fill you in on your feeding plan.  Keep to what she's doing for the first few weeks at least.
She will probably be on 4 meals a day and won't need feeding during the night - but that doesn't mean that you'll be getting a good night's sleep for the next few night!! :)

if you decide to change what the breeders feeding her on leave it a few weeks and then very gradually change it by mixing a little in each time till its switched over.

everyone has different preferences about what to feed and every dog likes different things but i'd suggest avoiding most of the supermarket brands. many have enumbers etc in them that pretty much do the same to your puppy as feeding a 5 year old nothing but chewitts (boing, boing boing!!)

you've got a few weeks to decide but there are loads of threads on good foods if you use the search facility :)

i'd also say don't chop and change the food if the pups a bit fussy as you'll make it far worse and a fussy dog is a nightmare!

so i take it your excited? have you a crate and bowls and everything ready?
