Such sad news.  He was one of the last 3 british surviving veterans of World War I, reaching the grand age of 108.  You saw many things that all of us hope never to see.  You will be honoured alongside your fallen comrades on Tuesday.

He was one of the last three Tommies(ie Army soldiers)there are more than 2 remaining WWI veterans. The oldest is Henry William Allingham who is 112 years old, he served in the forerunner of the RAF the Royal Navy Air Service & is the last founding member of the RAF. A very remarkable man, he's the oldest white man in the world & will be @ the 90th anniversary of the end of WWI

We owe these these wonderful men & their millions of comrades so much for their bravery & sacrifices in both WWs & other conflicts Would we be so brave now  in our millions ?
