I know there's a few people on here who make your own cards & was wondering where you get your materials from?  I've made 10 so far, bought a few supplies from Hobbycraft & the Range, but was wondering if e-bay for example was any good or if there were any other good online craft stores.

It depends what kind of supplies you are looking for.
Edited sorry I got trigger happy there and posted before I'd finished.
I tend to useThis site quiet a bit as they are very quick with delivery and there are no postal charges

I have purchased some very good quality paper and card for card making from some of the shops on ebay if that helps. :)

I have a new lap top and so have lost all the links to the shops I have used in the past so I will be watching this thread with interest also.

I've just bought some great items from crazy craft supplies an e-bay shop, I'll let you know what they're like when they arrive.  I'm very new to card making so would like some tips of where to buy supplies & ideas on card designs.  I find Hobbycraft quite daunting plus it seems quite expensive & I'm hoping I'll save money by making cards, going to do Xmas cards see what the reaction is like & then I might move onto bday, wedding etc, ideally I'd love to be making my own wedding stationary this time next year!!!

I usually buy my paper and card from 'Paper mill' if you're clever you can really load your boxes and get some lovely quality paper. I also bought a 'Make your own Greetings cards' CD, not too expensive...about £10 I think? Which is better to print the inners on, saves it getting all smudged like I do with stamps and ink lol For Christmas I usually do a photo of the dogs and mount it on the front of the card. Makes it personal too...For everything else I tend to look at some of the weekly markets going on...for example in Liverpool they have a twice weekly market that has a couple of stalls selling all sorts of stuff...if you're careful about what you buy, you can get a bargain or two!
I also use E-bay, just do a search for Craft supplies, there are hundreds of things available. What I would say though, if you use E-bay and find something you like, check the price if you can, online, from a retailer and remember to include the postage and packing costs too!

With Hobbycraft they do tend to do 'specials' quite a lot...check the web site for offers before you go!(though last time I looked you couldn't buy on-line...don't know if that's changed much?)

Enjoy!

I've got to sell all my stuff next year...too expensive to pack and arrange a container or other stuff to get to Greece! We're taking a trailer and the dogs of course! Our house over there is furnished, but with basic stuff, but we could buy everything new for the price of a container or a Removal company, we'll only take what is essential!

But yes, it is very relaxing AND rewarding, actually creating something personal for those you care about!
