You would have to bring it into UK quarantine, or have it satisfy the Pet Travel scheme criteria by living in the EEC through the waiting period, which is six months from the blood test with high enough titre levels. The dog must be microchipped prior top being vaccinated for Rabies, then at least a month later it has the blood test, then six months wait.
A fiend of mine brought in a dobermann from Russia this way. It went to holland at 4 months (Holland won't allow it in until it has been Rabies vaccinated at least a month) spent the next 7 months with some people who were paid to board it for that time.
It actually was more expensive than quarantine, but the dog could lead a normal life while waiting to come over.
Perhaps you would be better having a Minature Pincher, or English Toy Terrier??
I have just brought in a dog through Quarantine, and with purchase shipping, Vat etc, did not have much change out of £3000!
