My 18 week old puppy lost a canine tooth the other day. I think its normal as the other one is coming through. However when he's been chewing things his gums are bleeding. Is this ok or should i take any hard chews off him for now??
I gave my pup more hard things for him to chew on when he had teeth coming through (his gums did bleed sometimes too). He enjoyed frozen whole carrots, I imagine the cold is nice for the gums the same as human babies enjoy chilled teething rings.
My girl and her brother decided to lose their teeth together on a play date- blood everywhere! She is pretty much done now, but the harder and colder the better- frozen carrots are brilliant. She also liked to chew plastic milk bottles which ended up covered in blood- quite disturbing but she didn't care one little bit! I definitely woulnd't take the hard chews from him.
