when we bought her she had a bit of a limp, the breeder has told us that the mother had snapped at her for trying to pinch her dinner, as they do. she developed an abcess and it had gone but still limped a bit. We took the dog home happy that she would get over it,took her to the vets and he said it could just be soft tissue damage and it would go and gave her ,her first injection.just over a week later i noticed her shoulder looked odd and he limping was worse, trotted off back to the vets, and took her collar off and could,nt believe how it looked, they took xrays . The results were that the bone on top of her shoulder was damaged and dying, and shrinking, eventually it would lose all blood flow to the bone and leg and feelings and then have to be removed as she gets a bit older(she was born 31/7/08).the vet wont do it until she gets older. I asked the kennel club for an insurance claim form, sent it off and was sent a letter of refusal to pay out because she had the limp when we got her, and wont pay out over anything to do with the leg at all.The breeder was suprised at the extent of the damage and said he would refund us most of the money we paid for her or a pick of his next litter due in a few weeks.Took the pup for her second injection on thursday and they couldnt believe how good she looked and how she was doing, took her home and put her in the outside cage with another older dog we have, unfortunatly it was blowing gales on and off and the kennel door blew back and hit the pup on her shoulder, now she cant use her leg much, crying with pain during the night. so i called the pdsa to try get her in there but they refused her until NEXT APRIL.i tried getting her in then called them for animal cruelty and having to leave her with a broken shoulder and not caring,i am in receipt of income support but they said i had too many pets,i only have two adult dogs and now the pup, my son had a cat in my name 2 years ago and they were told the cat was rehomed. so i have insurance which is no good from the kennel club, no pdsa help so now i am selling my laptop to pay for vet bills as they come in,TALK ABOUT P*****. i just needed to rant at someone. i am now considering having her put down

If your pup has a broken shoulder she can't wait for you to raise the funds to pay for vet care, she needs medical attention NOW, she will be in agony and the longer it's left untreated the worse the prognosis for the allready poor leg.
You really need to get on the 'phone and find some way of getting her treatment, explain the situation to your vet as they may be able to point you in the direction of a charity that can help or phone the RSPCA, your pup needs treatment and it's a crime to make her wait (not to mention being very cruel).
i have had her to th vet and they have given me some antibiotics and painkillers and we have to go back monday, im not neglecting her,she even has to come to bed with me, that is one thing which comes first in my house my dogs. the husband and kids follow on
the problem with her shoulder is ,the little nobble that holds the bone in place ,the vet says it is much smalller than the other and not as dark on the x ray which means its not a healthy bone and is lacking in blood, etc and is shrinking and dying we hoped it would take a long time before we even had to think of her getting it took off(if needed) in years not weeks.the bone that is dying is more suseptible to injury or crumbling easier, they say it will be more likely to get arthirtus as well. the vet would like to see her when he can manipulate her leg more after the pain killers have taken the edge off.
had a call from the breeder after i had told him what is going on and he said that the kennel club have,nt contacted him or his parner in business about the pup, the kc insurers told me they had spoken to him and said it was bought like this.come monday i will be back on the phone to the insurers.
